Bremhill
Grove Farm is a new six bedroom house in Wiltshire. It is built
around a cobbled courtyard which protects the entrance to the house
from the N E winds
The use of stone with brick quoins reflects the local vernacular
whilst the brick single storey wings are more agricultural in feel.
This gives the house a timeless quality which respects the rural
area in which it is built.
The house is constructed to a high specification with insulation
values in excess of those required by the current building regulations.
Geo-thermal energy with underfloor heating is used to heat the house
and hot water. Fresh air is provided to all rooms by a whole house
ventilation system where the heat is recovered from the stale air,
and a rainwater harvesting system provides grey water for WC flushing.
